A compilation of the band’s first two singles – ‘Accidentals’ and ‘Living Room’ – along with ‘The Book Lovers’ EP, upon it’s release in 1997 this album served as the first full length introdution to the unique sonic world of Broadcast. Coming at a time when Britpop was at it’s peak and electronic dance music in full swing, it was retro in spirit and part electronic in method, but sounded like little else. Comparison’s can justifiably be made to peers of the time such as Stereolab, but James Cargill and Trish Keenan’s vision seemed to belong to a different, retro-futurist dimension.
