Korb members Jonathan Parkes and Alec Wood have formed a prolific partnership over recent years, building up a catalogue of recordings on their own Dreamlord Recordings label under various aliases, including The Hologram People, whose Village of the Snake God on Library of the Occult remains a high point. Here the duo shifts it’s attentions towards the world of Kosmische music and bubbling synths, global grooves and analogue soundscapes, all delivered so effortlessly it’s hard not to fall for them. The influence of music from around the world is more than apparent on the likes of ‘Dance Ritual’, which tips its hat to classic Anatolian funk rock in fine style, ‘Magma Fields’ and opener ‘Procession’ could’ve been out of ’70s Germany, and ‘Levitation’ is a wonderful sonic brew of Eastern funk and analogue synthesisers that deserves to be played in the hippest nightclubs with immediate effect. – Paul Osborne, Shindig Magazine
