There is no sign-up fee to join our cult, simply listening to the music, either via physical media or magickal streaming, confers lifetime membership. However, to achieve high status among cult members it is advised to obtain the Limited Edition Gold Vinyl.
It would be difficult to imagine a more perfect record to begin this series than Daisy Rickman’s second full-length album ‘Howl’ (the Cornish word for ‘sun’). The Cornish painter and musician has drawn inspiration from the landscape of her home county and created a collection of ethereal, out-of-time, psychy, pastoral folk songs in homage to, in Daisy’s own words: “the sun, the stars, and explorations of the cycles both within ourselves and throughout the turning wheel of the year.”
“Similarly to (first album) ‘Donsya A’n Loryow’ it’s just me playing on this record and you will hear a mix of singing, acoustic guitar, 12 string, double bass, drums, percussion, sitar, cello, bouzouki, banjo, accordion, clarinet, fiddle, and synthesizer. I enjoy recording alone at home as I really like the solitary space of creation one enters when experimenting within this process of making music. I love playing different instruments so it’s a lot of fun being in a realm of recording where these different parts of one’s musical self can talk to each other and play. It feels like a very meditative space to be in and a powerful creative place for communicating with the divine.” — Daisy Rickman
