Domino take great pride in reissuing Rock Bottom, originally released in 1974. Defiantly graceful, listening to Rock Bottom is like being invited into another person’s consciousness: fluid, deep, mesmerising and utterly unique.
In which case the mind of Robert Wyatt is a very good place to spend time. His music has always defied categorization, though of course for the sake of this listing we’ve had to try to do just that. The truth is that he is one of those rare artist’s, like Kate Bush and Mark Hollis, whose work belongs to it’s own unique genre.
Wyatt enlisted the help of several notable musicians for the recording of Rock Bottom, including fellow Canterbury Scene luminaries Hugh Hopper & Richard Sinclair, Mike Oldfield and the legend that is Ivor Cutler.
