Soft Machine – Original Album Classics (CD Boxset)
Availability: In stock
5 disc CD boxset. Discs in card sleeves with original album artwork, housed in heavy guage slipcase.
Including the albums Third, Fourth, Five, Six and Seven, originally released between 1970 and 1973. A comprehensive set that documents the bands development from the psychedelic jazz explorations and the tail end Robert Wyatt’s tenure (he left after the release of Fourth in 1971), to their progression to a fully fledged jazz fusion outfit. In that time a metaphorical revolving door had been installed in the Soft Machine rehearsal space, as an impressive list of acclaimed musicians and session players came and went, including Ray Babbington, Jimmy Hastings, John Marshall and Karl Jenkins. This only served to enrich the music and these five albums represent what some would consider to be their golden era.
